This special workshop is in collaboration with local artist Ong Si Hui as part of the Singapore Art week and Funan's Creative Intersection: Year of the Rabbit art initiative.

Ong Si Hui is a visual artist based in Singapore. She is a trained sculptor and work extensively with stones. She explores the spirit of the medium through slow and meticulous hand carving processes and addresses materiality, human conditions, fragility, anxiety, and reflects upon the behaviour of a work story. The geometric forms and text-oriented works are often manifestations of her stream of consciousness.

For this special collaboration, the artist was inspired by Chokmah's zero waste approach to making and designing as well as the versatility of the medium - Jesmonite. In this workshop, which will be led by Ong Si Hui herself, will be incorporating waste materials from her sculpting process - which are scrap stone chips, to create a marble/granite inlay within their Jesmonite Rectangular Tray.

Participants will get to interact with Ong Si Hui and understand her thought process in creating her elegant sculptural pieces and at the same time, you will get to learn about the amazing properties of Jesmonite and the process of casting which will be facilitated by Chokmah's Trainer/Artisans.

Product size: 14.8cm (L) x 10.2cm (W) x 1.3cm (H)
